The Principal Patriot Program Quality Lead (PQL) in Land and Air Defense Systems (LADS), will aid US and/or foreign programs within the portfolio and work as a Hybrid employee at our Tewksbury or Andover, MA location. You will promote and execute with a quality mindset, practices, knowledge transfer, and collaboration. This individual will assist in implementation of Mission Area strategic quality improvements across contracts.
This role will work to ensure the effective implementation of Quality and Mission Assurance requirements of the programs, and interface with US Government Customers, Foreign Customers, Suppliers, and our internal Raytheon Quality team. The Patriot portfolio includes contracts in all Integrated Product Development System (IPDS) phases, including design and development, production, and sustainment.
This is an “Hybrid” role in Andover or Tewksbury, MA
What You Will Do:
- Interface with the program quality teams, programs, customers, and Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), supporting technical quality and financial performance, and compliance to Raytheon procedures and contractual requirements.
- Closely interface with external and internal customers and key partners to establish effective relationships.
- Must have the ability to manage and impact across multiple levels of stakeholders, as it is vital to the success of this role.
- Responsible for quality of delivered products and services to our customers, stakeholders of quality risks, uncertainties and opportunities, key team members in resolution of customer expectations and relationships related to Mission Assurance and Quality.
- Developing and implementing strategic and tactical Mission Assurance plans that will closely affect the programs’ implementation and influence.
- Improve processes or systems using significant conceptualizing, reasoning, and interpretation skills. Problems and issues faced are numerous and undefined, and information is typically difficult to obtain.
- Assuring inclusion of quality requirements, planning, and consistency for program proposals and subsequent management of the quality budget.
- Monitor/ lead root cause corrective action (RCCA) and FRACAS activities for systemic issues and to ensure extensive RCCA.
- Generation of new Cost of Quality (CoQ) projects to reduce costs on the program.
- Support implementation of APQP as applicable.
Qualification You Must Have:
- Typically requires Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and eight (8) years of engineering experience, with specific experience in the following areas;
- Working experience with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 Quality Management Systems.
- Working experience with performance to cost, schedule, and technical performance including Cost Accounting Methodologies (Earned Value).
- Working experience in providing technical program support for manufacturing and/or design processes.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Six Sigma, Lean, CORE, or American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certification.
- Working experience in providing technical program oversight for manufacturing and/or design processes.
- Experience with Integrated Product Development System (IPDS) or similar gate management process.
- Experience in other functional area such as engineering, supplier engineering, or operations.
- Effective verbal and written communication and networking skills to work with upper management and customers.
- Hands-on experience in solving both business and technical problems.
