Wieland is hiring a Production Supervisor. The Production Supervisor will supervise and coordinate activities of a team of casting employees in the fabrication and/or preparation and packaging of industrial products. This role is located in Pine Hall, North Carolina and will be fully on-site.

Responsibilities

Production Supervisor Responsibilities:

• Ensures team member’s adherence to specified standards of safety, quality, operating procedures and Company policies by acting as a positive role model and by demonstrating behavioral standards in accordance with company policies.
• Takes appropriate corrective action to address behaviors/actions that are non-compliant.
• Performs periodic review and update of job descriptions of team members.
• Appraises team members and submits appraisal sheet to Production Manager. Educates team members to empower the team and maximize performance.
• Ensures product conformance to specifications and directs setup and adjustments of machines.
• Interprets job orders to workers and assigns duties.
• Adjusts work procedures and distributes manpower to meet production schedules and shift goals.
• Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
• Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of department or team.
• Analyzes and resolves or assists workers in solving work problems.
• Initiates plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
• Maintains time, production and performance records of each team member.
• Effectively records and maintains comprehensive documentation of each team member’s actions/behavior in electronic appraisal database throughout each appraisal period.
• Confers with other Supervisors to coordinate activities of individual teams and departments.
• Periodically performs activities of workers supervised.

 

 

Production Supervisor Qualifications:

• Demonstrates skill as a leader.
• Accepts and delegates high levels of responsibility for processes affecting the organization’s long term welfare.
• Deals effectively with all levels of personnel, internal and external. Maintains professional contacts with domestic and international representatives. Performs to high level of self-discipline and ethics to protect the company’s interests.
• High school diploma or equivalent and experience in field.
• Ability to clearly communicate ideas and information orally and in writing in one on one and group situations, meetings and conducting presentations.

  • Production and office environment with daily administrative duties.
  • Involves periods of sitting at desk and computer, standing, walking, and negotiating stairs, ladders elevated catwalks and platforms in hot or cold production environment on slippery surfaces for the purpose of directing operations and evaluating situations.
  • Perform duties under pressure of deadlines
