About the role

As a Manager of Logistics Engineering, you will lead and manage our Logistics Industrial Engineering, Logistics Packaging Engineering, and Logistics Systems Engineering teams. You will be responsible for driving innovative solutions, optimizing processes, and ensuring seamless integration of logistics operations to support Zoox’s ambitious goals in autonomous vehicle production, fleet operations, and service readiness.
In this role, you will:
- Lead and mentor the Logistics Engineering teams (Industrial Engineering, Packaging Engineering, and Systems Engineering) to optimize material flow, develop sustainable packaging solutions, and maintain advanced logistics IT systems.
- Design and implement distribution centers to support fleet operations, including material storage, handling, and delivery for production, service, and spare parts logistics.
- Develop and optimize inbound and outbound logistics processes to ensure cost efficiency, timely delivery, and operational scalability.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing, supply chain, and service teams to align logistics strategies with production and service requirements while integrating continuous improvement initiatives focused on scalability, cost savings, and sustainability.
- Develop and implement KPIs to measure logistics performance, identify areas for improvement, and drive actionable results.
- Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices, incorporating them into Zoox’s logistics strategy to support new product launches and operational excellence.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
- 8+ years of experience in logistics engineering, supply chain management, or a related field, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
- Strong knowledge of material flow, packaging design, distribution center design and implementation, and logistics systems integration in a manufacturing or automotive environment
- Experience with logistics IT systems (e.g., WMS, SAP) and automation technologies
- Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and delivering results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Ability to travel up to 30%
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience in automotive manufacturing or a high-tech environment
- Expertise with simulation software for logistics and supply chain operations
- Lean Six Sigma certification or equivalent experience in continuous improvement methodologies
