Position Summary: This is a Staff Assistant position within the Office of the Attorney General, Lemon Law.
Qualifications:
- Three years of secretarial or clerical work experience; or
- A high school diploma or its equivalent and 1 year of secretarial/administrative experience.
- College education from an accredited institution can substitute at the rate of 30 semester or 45 quarter hours for each year of the required work experience; or
- Vocational/technical training in an area of secretarial science or office/business studies can substitute at the rate of 720 classroom hours for each year of the required work experience.
The Work You Will Do: This position reports directly to the Program Specialist. Work assignments are received from the Program Specialist and Director. This position’s duties include but are not limited to the following:

Processes case files which includes copying, scanning, data entry, assembling files, mailing Notice of Arbitration and related documents to all parties, forwarding case files to appropriate board office.

Answers telephone inquiries concerning case status and issues covered under the Florida Lemon Law on the shared phone line and as assigned from the Lemon Law Complaint Hotline database.

Assists Program Specialist with case tracking; closes out all dismissed cases heard by the Board and updates database with required information; assists Program Specialist in monitoring manufacturer appeals and compliance with board decisions in consumer’s favor.
- Prepares weekly schedule of time and location of statewide arbitration hearings. Distributes weekly hearing schedule to interested parties.

Maintains case filing systems and closed case files. Includes filing, locating and pulling files, refiling, and preparing case files for archiving as necessary.

Assists Program Specialist with responses to manufacturer requests for Resale Disclosure of Nonconformity forms, and public records requests

Performs other duties as required.
