About the job
Leads and directs key customer account sales engineering activities relative to business development and account maintenance. Responsible for designing new products and processes as well as improvements and maintenance of new and existing products. Must be able to multitask in a matrix organization, prioritize work based on customer need and influence without authority.
Your tasks
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
• Acts as subject matter expert as necessary.
• Achieve sales growth targets and market share gains by combining technical product knowledge, engineering aptitude, and strong sales persuasion skills to identify current and future customer needs and turn those needs into new products, services, and solutions that generate revenue and improve profitability.
• Supports key account day-to-day product and project activity for internal and external process partners.
• Coordinates with inside and outside Sales Teams to provide consultation to customer. Recommends solutions, coordinates implementation, and leads design changes within the product life cycle as necessary.
• Work with internal and external stakeholders to resolve field issues with product quality, reliability, functionality, installation, and application in a timely manner
• Investigates and determines cause of customer-initiated issues related to product functionality and provides timely internal and external communication of corrective actions.
• Acts as point-of-contact and subject matter expert on behalf of the company.
• Develops and maintains relationships with assigned key customer contacts and corporate departmental decision-makers to assure complete understanding and knowledge of customer operational and menu objectives / plans and customer political atmosphere.
• Assists in the product development process by identifying opportunities, obtaining customer feedback, documenting operational requirements and other project scoping as necessary.
• Conduct design analysis on components and/or assemblies to ensure designs are cost efficient, can be manufactured, and meet customer requirements.
• Coordinates and communicates results of all new product field testing and takes immediate action to resolve any product performance issues that may arise during the test period.
• Assist in coordination of technical communication between Sales, Sales Administration, Product Management, Manufacturing, Engineering, Production Planning, and Shipping.
• Supports the creation of appropriate manuals and other product documentation.
• Conducts periodic reviews of product pricing to ensure sell pricing and product margins are appropriate and correct, including reviews of EIS to validate or adjust pricing as needed.
• Creates and maintains reports as required to support business needs.
• Serves as liaison between customer and all associated company divisions as required.
• Attends and coordinates customer and industry related trade shows and conventions.
• Ability to travel up to 40% within the USA, with potential international travel for business collaboration.
• Reliable attendance is a must.
• Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE .
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering field, mechanical or electrical engineering preferred
• Minimum three (3) years of product development work experience.
• Minimum two (2) years of customer facing / sales work experience.
• Advanced operational knowledge of restaurant procedures and practices, equipment and skills
needed to perform various tasks within a restaurant environment preferred but not required.
