About you and this role - What you will do in this role
The Maintenance Electrical Technician will provide the technical expertise to assist the Work Coordinators and Scheduler in performing electrical work and to participate in the installation, acceptance testing, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of complex electrical systems and equipment.
Responsibilities - Duties, projects, tasks, and activities you would be responsible for in this role
- Repairs, maintains, and installs electrical equipment which is used in the process.
- Troubleshoots, diagnoses, and replaces defective components on electrical systems and documents failure analysis.
- Reads and interprets electrical, logic, loop, and single line diagrams.
- Specify, comply and verify equipment for hazardous area classifications according to hazardous area classification drawings.
- Identifies and understand auxiliary circuits associated with each piece of equipment.
- Creates and follow hazards assessment indicating safety, health and environmental considerations for a job.
- Reviews the job package and verify work can be carried out safely.
- Performs the task as per the conditions of the Safe Work Permit.
- Works within established Maintenance Work Processes and helps resolve issues that surface as a result of planning and scheduling work.
- Assists in planning, prioritizing, and scheduling maintenance through planner, work coordinator and operations input.
- Checks sizing of components and parts.
- Coordinates, specifies, requisitions, and installs parts and equipment.
- Supports robust procedure use culture which includes field use, reviews, revisions, and development of procedures.
- Participates in field interactions including procedure audits as requested.
- Provide influential leadership within the Dow team and contractor workforce
- Available for weekend call and holdover overtime, call-ins, plant turnarounds, is an expectation of the job.
Qualifications - Required education, experience and abilities that are needed for this role (must haves)
- A minimum of a High School Diploma and one or more of the following:
- Associate’s degree or higher in Electrical Technology/Electronic from an accredited educational institute.
- 4 or more years of relevant military experience.
- Technical diploma in Electrical Technology/Electronic from an accredited educational institute.
- 3 or more years of experience in an industrial electrician role.
- Valid U.S. driver's license.

- A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
Preferred Skills - An expanded list of qualifications that are "nice to have", but not essential
- 5+ years of experience as an Industrial Electrician in Plant Maintenance.
