Schedule: Night Shift- 3:00PM-11:00PM Monday thru Friday

Job Summary (Summary of the basic functions of the position)

The Data Entry Specialist provides critical administrative support to ensure the accurate and timely entry of patient demographic information into the laboratory database. This role contributes directly to the delivery of high-quality patient care by maintaining precision and efficiency in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, self-motivated, and thrives in a collaborative team setting. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities (Responsibilities necessary to accomplish job functions)   

  • Accurately enter patient demographic data into the laboratory system
  • Maintain high levels of speed and precision in data entry tasks
  • Communicate effectively with team members to ensure workflow continuity
  • Demonstrate accountability and reliability in completing daily assignments
  • Assist with general administrative tasks as needed to support lab operations
  • Adhere to all safety and confidentiality policies, including HIPAA guidelines
  • Provide support for occasional shift coverage due to absences
  • Perform other duties as assigned in the best interest of the organization

Qualifications

Experience Requirements

  • One (1) year administrative or data entry experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements

  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Fast typing skills (60+ WPM preferred) or demonstrated ability to learn quickly
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic understanding of medical terminology, preferred
  • Basic understanding of patient confidentiality
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt in a dynamic environment
