Overview
The Manager, Cloud Infrastructure & SecOps at Origami Risk leads the teams responsible for the reliability, scalability, security, and operational excellence of our cloud production environments. This player-coach role combines ownership of cloud infrastructure, platform operations, and security operations, ensuring Origami’s SaaS environment remains highly available, performant, compliant, and protected against cyber threats.
This person defines the technical and AI-Driven operational strategy across infrastructure, IAM, observability, automation, and SecOps—while also driving the adoption of AI and intelligent automation to enhance reliability, security, and engineering efficiency. This person is responsible for managing both Infrastructure/Cloud Architects and Security Engineers, providing technical leadership, strategic direction, and people leadership across the organization.
Starting base pay for this role is between $145,000 and $185,000. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as transferable skills, work experience, business needs, training, location, and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role will be eligible for a bonus as well as competitive medical, dental, and vision benefits, wellness reimbursement, life insurance, and a 401(k) with company match. We offer vacation and sick leave benefits (under a flexible time off policy in most states).
Responsibilities
- Leads the design, implementation, and ongoing management of cloud infrastructure to ensure high availability, scalability, and operational efficiency.
- Defines, monitors, and continuously improves SLOs/SLIs related to performance, reliability, and operational health.
- Implements strong incident, problem, and change management practices, ensuring operational excellence.
- Leads the adoption of AI-driven capabilities across CloudOps, Infrastructure, and SecOps to enhance reliability, security, and operational productivity.
- Implements AI/ML-based observability, anomaly detection, predictive alerting, and automated remediation workflows.
- Integrates AI assistance into CI/CD, IaC validation, configuration drift detection, and cloud resource optimization.
- Deploys AI-powered security analytics, including behavioral detection, threat correlation, automated triage, and attackpath modeling.
- Establishes governance, safe‑use standards, and compliance guardrails for AI in operational workflows.
- Evaluates emerging AI technologies and partners cross functionally to introduce responsible, secure AI capabilities that reduce manual work and improve resiliency.
- Acts as a strategic partner to Engineering, Architecture, Product, and Compliance teams to ensure aligned priorities and shared accountability.
- Owns operational runbooks, security policies, cloud governance, and disaster recovery/business continuity readiness.
- Contributes to cloud platform architecture standards, ensuring designs are secure-by-default and operationally resilient.
- Ensures teams comply with all applicable security and privacy requirements (NIST 80053, ISO/IEC 27001, SOC 2, and internal policies).
- Supports internal audits, compliance reviews, control enforcement, incident reporting, and related governance efforts.
- Manages, mentors, and develops colleagues in Cloud Architecture, Infrastructure, and Security Engineering, fostering growth, collaboration, and excellence.
- Conducts performance reviews, 1:1s, career planning, hiring, and compensation activities.
- Leads security incident response, investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action plans.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- 10+ years of Information Technology experience, with demonstrated, hands-on experience across multiple domains, e.g., Application CICD, Cloud Infrastructure, Endpoint Management/Defense, Information Security products.
- 3+ years of prior people leadership experience, preferably in a high-growth SaaS environment
- 5+ years of direct Cloud IaaS/PaaS experience, AWS preferred.
- Motivated self-starter capable of working independently while also collaborating with other team members.
- Experience securing public cloud environments such as Amazon AWS, GCP or Microsoft Azure
- Technical knowledge of Software Defined Networking
- Experience with secure software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies such as Agile and DevOps
- Experience with one or more scripting languages such as Python preferred.
- Experience with Cloud Security Alliance (CSA), FISMA & FedRAMP compliance, ISO 27001/2 and NIST 800-53 security controls preferred.
- Experience with SSAE 16/18 SOC audits preferred.
