Job Description

AECOM Hunt is seeking a Senior BIM-VDC Engineer - Digital Technology Specialist to be based in our Phoenix, AZ office, with strategic home/remote work flexibility.

The Senior BIM-VDC Engineer – Digital Technology Specialist leads the implementation and use of digital building and construction technologies including Procore and Autodesk Construction Cloud on AECOM Hunt’s world-renowned projects. The primary duties of this role are to lead the BIM project management and VDC coordination as well as support on-site construction teams to ensure optimal digital project delivery by leveraging building and construction technologies. This role is based in Phoenix, Arizona, and will provide full-time on-site presence with strategic remote work flexibility upon the successful establishment of critical management and coordination duties.

The Senior BIM-VDC Engineer – Digital Technology Specialist’s responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Work collaboratively within our core Digital Technology team Western Region to strategize, implement and leverage digital technologies as well other related leading-edge methodologies to secure the advancement and continuous innovation of our digital project delivery.
• Schedule and meet with Project Executive, Project Manager, and General Superintendent upon being awarded any project to strategize and generate our Digital Project Delivery Execution Plan (DPDxP).
• Assist the project team with subcontractor selection and contract language as they relate to BIM requirements in bid packs; manage subcontractor relationships for effective coordination.
• Schedule and lead project kick-off meetings with design-assist subcontractors, subcontractors, and A/E team to implement the Digital Project Delivery Execution Plan (DPDxP).
• Ensure projects have adequately defined BIM-VDC requirements using AECOM Hunt’s standard SMART Program to ensure proper staffing needs are retained to fulfill these requirements.
• Set up 3D and model-based projects for coordination during project start-up while collaborating with the project team to ensure the project is optimized to include new technological advancements.
• Manage and coordinate BIM models; configure the digital project for optimized collaboration with A/E and design teams, subcontractors, and trade partners; generate coordination schedule.
• Provide as-needed detailing and project layout utilizing Revit as well as other BIM applications and platforms to facilitate field operations; assist and partner with subcontractors to secure the successful coordination of trade fabrication and shop drawings.
