About the Team:
The Core Product Team at Quizlet is composed of a dynamic group of product managers, designers, data scientists, and engineers who are deeply passionate about education and technology. Our team is responsible for the end-to-end experience of millions of users, ensuring that our learning platform not only meets but exceeds their needs and expectations.
About the Role:
As a Data Science Manager at Quizlet, you will lead a team of skilled data analysts dedicated to supporting the Core Product Team. This role is crucial for providing actionable insights that shape the strategic direction of our products and features. Your expertise in data analysis and management will enable our team to make informed, data-driven decisions that enhance the learning experience for millions of users globally.
This is a hybrid role based out of our Denver, Los Angeles, New York, and San Francisco office hubs.

In this role, you will:

  • Manage and mentor a team of data analysts. You'll foster a collaborative environment that encourages innovation and continuous improvement
  • Develop team members’ skills in data analysis and interpretation
  • Conduct and lead the analysis of complex data sets to identify trends, patterns, and insights. You'll ensure these findings are developed into clear, actionable strategies for product improvement and innovation
  • Work closely with product managers, engineers, and designers to integrate data-driven insights into product development processes. Ensure that data analysis aligns with overall product goals and user needs
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports that provide critical insights to stakeholders. Ensure that complex data is presented in a clear, concise, and actionable manner
  • Champion and drive the accuracy, reliability, and value of data

What you bring to the table:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in data analytics, with at least 1 year in a manager, mentor or tech-lead role
  • MUST have experience running A/B tests and using statistical techniques for modeling and predicting user behavior
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis, predictive modeling, and data mining techniques
  • Expert in SQL and strong skills with languages such as Python or R
  • Expertise in ETL processes, preferably including DBT
  • Expert using data visualization tools, specifically Periscope or similar cloud-based solutions
  • Exceptional communication skills, with a proven ability to translate data insights into strategic business actions
  • Demonstrated leadership ability with a track record of leading and developing teams
