Alkami is looking to add a driven Sr. Manager of Cloud FinOps with demonstrated experience building and maturing Cloud FinOps capabilities in a growth SaaS company setting to our Technology organization, reporting to the Director of Engineering Strategic Operations. The leader selected for this position will create the vision and lead the strategy and programmatic execution of key initiatives for our cloud cost optimization needs. Building a cost aware culture throughout the organization will be an important requirement to building a successful Cloud Financial Management practice at Alkami.

The ideal candidate is a proven leader and has the expertise necessary to bring standardization, expansion and automation to the CFM practices already inflight as well as creating new ones in order to drive business value and key results. You have a technical foundation in the cloud as well as solid business savvy as you will work closely with infrastructure and finance stakeholders to forecast and provide impactful analysis, insights and recommendations. Key Responsibilities & Duties:

• Develop and evolve a high-level CFM strategy rollout across the organization that includes cost and forecasting models to provide required insights into current and future cloud spend

• Leverage AWS native tools such as Quicksight to automate data cataloging and to provide Alkami service owners and stakeholders with real-time data, allowing them to respond swiftly and accurately to changes

• Partner with Finance to maintain connection between company financial plans and AWS cost reporting

• Ensure appropriate tagging and alerts strategies are deployed to manage costs and determine deviations from plan

• Drive unit cost optimization efforts by recommending reserved instances & savings plans, uncovering rightsizing optimizations and reducing waste

• Work with our engineering teams and finance to accurately attribute costs to teams, help them develop forecasts and determine cost drivers of their expenses

• Document standard operating procedures that are used for creating and distributing reporting, identifying available optimizations, updating and publicizing tagging requirements, forecasting, and variance analysis

• Recommend tools necessary to best support our FinOps function across the company

• Introduce the use of Grafana within Engineering to consolidate and compare cost and performance metrics

• Engage regularly with Director and C-Suite level leaders as their primary financial and technical point of contact

• Participate in deep architectural discussions to help product teams are making the most cost-efficient choices

• Be the voice of the Engineering team and their champion advocating for financial acumen and effective cloud resource management with our organization
