The University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science
(UMCES) Horn Point Laboratory (HPL) is seeking a Faculty Research Assistant to develop numerical models of estuaries and coastal oceans for investigating topics such as coastal inundation, river plume dynamics and particle transport, and salt intrusion into estuaries. The successful candidate is expected to configure, run and validate the numerical models, analyze related observational data, and conduct modeling analysis.


Minimum Qualifications: A B.Sc. in Computer Science or a related field is required. Demonstrated skills in numerical modeling, programming and data analysis are also required.


Preferred Qualifications: The successful candidate is expected to have excellent communication skills, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work with an interdisciplinary team of scientists.
