Your Specific Responsibilities:

This is a laboratory position responsible for performing non-technical duties related to preparing samples, supplies and reagents in the Newborn Screening laboratory.

 

Accession newborn screening blood spot specimens and scan demographic cards into the Laboratory Information System. 

Saturday work and emergency work as required.

 

Perform machine punching of satisfactory blood spot specimens for newborn screening testing.

 

Monitor and record temperatures and humidity as required. Prepare reagents and plates for newborn screening testing. Track inventory, maintain and store supplies.

 

Perform other related duties as required

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of the basic concepts and principles of the sciences. 

Knowledge of the procedures, equipment and materials used in laboratory testing and analysis. 

Knowledge of basic math. 

Skill in the use of laboratory equipment and materials. 

Ability to understand and follow technical instructions.   

Ability to work independently. 

Ability to communicate effectively.

 

Qualifications:

Minimum: High School Diploma
