Senior M&A Manager (m/f/d)

Here’s what you can look forward to:

As a Senior M&A Manager (m/f/d), you will play a key role in executing Mabanaft’s ambitious growth strategy to lead the energy transition. Reporting directly to the Head of Mergers & Acquisitions, you will work closely with the Mabanaft Leadership Team to identify, evaluate, and execute strategic transactions that drive our business forward. Collaborating with internal stakeholders and external partners, you will help shape our portfolio and contribute to long-term value creation in a dynamic and future-oriented environment.
 

Your Tasks In a Nutshell:

  • M&A Project Execution: Lead and/or support the end-to-end execution of domestic and international M&A projects, with a focus on buy-side transactions. This includes project steering, stakeholder management, financial modeling, preparation of decision papers for senior leadership, and negotiation of transaction documentation.

  • Integration Planning: Collaborate with the Transformation Office to plan and prepare integration activities, ensuring seamless alignment with business objectives.

  • Strategic Planning: Support the development of group and segmental M&A strategies, providing valuable insights to shape our long-term growth agenda.

  • Target Identification & Analysis: Work closely with business segments to identify and analyze potential acquisition targets, driving strategic expansion opportunities.

  • Process Optimization: Drive continuous improvement of internal M&A capabilities and governance, enhancing efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Represent the M&A function in cross-functional initiatives, working closely with departments such as strategy, treasury, finance, and transformation. 

What helps you to fulfil this role:

  • Experience: At least five years of M&A experience within an investment bank, boutique advisory firm, or corporate M&A function, with a strong track record in deal execution.

  • Key Skills: Advanced financial modeling capabilities, strong analytical and conceptual skills, and solid business acumen to support strategic decision-making.

  • Industry Knowledge: Profound understanding of the energy sector, particularly in conventional liquid and gaseous molecules as well as emerging “new energy” products.

  • Education: A qualifying academic degree with an ex
