Regional JEM Manager

JELD-WEN is currently seeking a Regional JEM Manager to join our growing team.
THE ROLE:
The JELD-WEN Excellence Model (JEM) is a culture, a system, and a tool kit. The lean manufacturing tools and process improvement techniques are proven in achieving operational excellence on a worldwide scale. Under the guidance of Director of JEM, the Regional JEM Manager will facilitate and teach CI initiatives designed to eliminate waste and non-value-added activities and improve performance in People, Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Inventory. This position will teach, coach, and facilitate improvements using JEM methodology in operations and support areas.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
- Work with Line of Business Director of Operations & team to develop & work with plants to execute transformational level of improvement
- Works with the JEM Director, Global JEM team, and Operations in analyzing key performance indicators to ensure improvement efforts are strategically aligned and adding value to the bottom line.
- Work with sites to coach/develop plant JEM resources and leaders to support the growth in capability (skills, culture and coaching Kata) for sustaining continuous improvement
- This position will facilitate and co-facilitate various CI related workshops, training events, JEM projects/Kaizen events Value Stream Mapping, process flow charts, line balancing and other JEM tools for improvement results that can be leveraged across plants and product lines
- Ensures that JEM training, tools, assessments, and resources are available to employees at all levels and are being utilized appropriately and effectively across plants and functions
- Provide progress reporting to JEM Director of North America for tracking results to strategic plans and KPI’s
- Coach the process of developing and deploying effective standard work practices across the plant. Share and reapply proven methods across locations as appropriate
- Work across business practices to remove barriers and streamline processes by understanding internal and external customer requirements
- All other duties as assigned
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
- At least three (3) to five (5) years’ experience leading Lean Transformations in manufacturing operations, educating others on Lean principles and deployment planning.
- Hands on experience using modern Operational Excellence and Continuous Improvement methods (LEAN, TPS, Kanban, PSQDCI, A3,5S, Six Sigma etc.).
- Be proficient in guiding root-cause analysis (A3 Problem Solving)
- Basic Microsoft Office and applicable JELD-WEN software applications required
- Ability to plan and carry out projects independently while working effectively in a diverse work group
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Multi-location and operations experience preferred
- Ability to write reports, procedures, correspondences
- Demonstrated leadership skills with direct reports and influence on those with whom there is not a reporting relationship.
- Demonstrated ability to apply critical thought processes to develop, recommend and implement strategies and programs that address plant and corporate objectives
- Ability to work and operate under conditions of multiple deadlines and changing priorities
- Proven Lean Trainer
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills up and down the organizational hierarchy to include corporate offices
- Six Sigma Green Belt or higher Recommended/preferred
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Operations, Manufacturing, or equivalent combination of education and experience with an emphasis in CI and Lean. Determined by hiring manager.
