Senior Trading Underwriter - Commercial - CF

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Commercial Underwriting Department as a Senior Underwriter.

As a Senior Underwriter in the Commercial Portfolio Management and Change team , you will support the implementation of underwriting standards in AXA Ireland as an expert in the relevant Commercial classes of business in line with stated risk appetite.

You'll work majority of your week away from home. Away from home means either attendance at one of our head office locations, visiting clients or attending industry events.

Responsibilities will include:

·        Documenting of risk acceptance criteria and risk appetite for each class of business and continuous review of same.

·        Evaluating competitors risk acceptance criteria through internet reviews, mystery shopping and working closely with BDMs to obtain Broker information.

·        Highlight areas of concern and make recommendations for change based on completed reviews.

·        Completing product benchmarking on individual classes.

·        Responsibility for smaller nonmaterial classes of business/product/Scheme offerings.

·        Identifying new product and/or process opportunities to improve products and strengthen Underwriting rules to reduce claims and/or improve overall customer experience.

·        Ad hoc analysis of portfolios to identify areas of concern and development of action plans.

·        Maintenance of Underwriting licence system for all staff.

·        Maintenance and refinement of underwriting rulebooks for relevant classes.

·        Develop and deliver Underwriting training programmes to sales and Underwriting staff on product features and acceptance rules, rating, and risk appetite.
