Overview
The Department of Public Safety (DPS) is seeking a self-motivated and detail-oriented person to fill a permanent Financial Administrator III position in our Grants Management Unit. This position will primarily be responsible for the financial management of several FEMA grant programs. This may include both disaster and non-disaster grants and involve activities such as preparing grant applications, federal draws, program financials, execution of subgrant agreements, and processing subrecipient reimbursement requests.
Ideal candidates will possess strong computer and Excel skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work well with our subgrantees and Federal Agency partners. Knowledge of the State's Peoplesoft VISION financial system is preferred, but not required. This position has the opportunity to work remotely.

Work is performed in a standard office setting.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting AND one (1) year of accounting experience maintaining, reviewing, analyzing and accounting or financial data and records to ensure compliance with accepted accounting practices and standards
OR
Associate's degree in accounting, business administration, office administration or a related field AND four (4) years of professional experience in accounting, maintaining, reviewing, analyzing and accounting or financial data and records to ensure compliance with accepted accounting practices and standards
OR
High School diploma or equivalent AND five (5) years or more of professional experience in accounting involving maintaining, reviewing, and analyzing accounting or financial data and records to ensure compliance with accepted accounting practices and standards.
OR
Two (2) year as a Financial Administrator II with the State of Vermont.
NOTE: CPA certificate is considered qualifying.
Special Requirements
For some positions experience working with the VISION system (VISION is the State of Vermont PeopleSoft financial management system)may be required.
