For everyone, everywhere.</p><p>More about our <a href="https://wise.jobs/our-mission">mission</a>.</p><h3>Job Description</h3><p><strong>The team you will join: Servicing Machine Learning and Data Engineering</strong></p><p>The SMDE team at Servicing Platform is dedicated to build a platform and tooling for fincrime teams, fincrime data scientists. Our team is responsible for developing and enhancing real-time transaction monitoring systems, and data scientist focused analytical tooling.  </p><p>Software engineers, data analysts, and data scientists collaborate on a daily basis to continuously improve our systems and provide support for fincrime teams.</p><p><strong>Our vision is:</strong></p><ul><li><p>Build tooling for data scientists and engineers to explore, experiment, backfill and deploy most features/data points in production.</p></li><li><p>Provide robust offline training tools as well as datasets for model retraining.</p></li><li><p>Strengthen the partnership between product engineering teams (KYC, Fraud prevention, AML, Screening, etc) to build a platform where teams can share data points, and reuse work</p></li><li><p>Build tooling to aggregate data using open source frameworks like Flink and Kafka streams</p></li></ul><p><strong>What does it take?  </strong></p><ul><li><p>7+ years of experience Java or other JVM based language, experience with Spring framework and deep understanding of JDBC and database internals</p></li><li><p>Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Distributed and Concurrent Systems</p></li><li><p>Experience with machine learning basics (data pipelines, feature engineering, recall/precision, familiarity with machine learning systems in production) is a huge plus</p></li><li><p>A strong product mindset and passion for user experience, you prioritise work with the customers in mind and make data-driven decisions to fix customer pain-points</p></li><li><p>Being able to work independently on customer problems is a key to success - you take responsibility and end-to-end ownership of your projects: drive and own them to make sure we hit the goals we want to achieve</p></li><li><p>Close collaboration with product managers, data scientists, data analysts, engineers and other product teams is a must have and is something to expect to happen on a daily basis.</p></li><li><p>Great communication skills and the ability to articulate complex, technical concepts to non-technical audience</p></li><li><p>Experience working with relational and non-relational databases, query optimisation and designing schemas</p></li><li><p>You enjoy writing testable code and believe in Test Driven Development</p></li><li><p>You believe in and follow best coding practices, code reviews and open feedback</p></li><li><p>Being able to propose technical solutions that optimise for latency and throughput at the same time - aka: being able to execute fraud checks real-time even when a significant amount of transactions are needed to be screened.</p></li></ul><p> </p><p><strong>What does success look like?</strong></p><ul><li><p>You'll be having a real world impact by building financial crime prevention systems </p></li><li><p>You’ll have onboarded and found your place through understanding your team and tribe vision and how you can contribute</p></li><li><p>You’ll understand how our values can help you guide your work</p></li><li><p>You’ll understand the reasons behind problematic payments and customer difficulties and how to go about solving them</p></li><li><p>You’ll be raising the automation level to enable scaling of the product</p></li><li><p>Understand our customers and the impact our product makes in their lives </p></li><li><p>You’ll help us scale-up and build a world class money transfer product by finding solutions to our technical challenges and opportunities</p></li></ul><h3>Additional Information</h3><p>For everyone, everywhere.
