Job Description:

Airbus US Manufacturing Facility is looking for a Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our Maintenance Department based in Mobile, AL

The Facilities Maintenance Technician performs routine repairs and general maintenance in an extensive range of areas within the facilities under minimal direction. Work within established procedures and processes under both verbal and written instructions. This position performs- general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings requiring practical skill and knowledge in such trades as painting, carpentry, plumbing and electrical work.

Your working environment:

Nearby on ‘Airbus Way’ you will find the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility for commercial aircraft. Opened at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley in 2015, the facility produces A320 Family aircraft and added a second product line for the A220 in 2019. The facility, which strengthens the U.S. aerospace industry, is part of Airbus’ strategy to improve its global competitiveness by meeting the growing needs of its customers in the United States and beyond.

Your challenges:

Day to day facility operations: 90%

  • Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include repairing drywall, painting, and repairing doors and other building fixtures.

  • Prepare walls and other surfaces for painting by scraping, using sandpaper, removing old paint etc.

  • Mix paint and other materials to prepare the right color or texture

  • Paint surfaces according to instructions with various tools

  • Uses drywall 'mud', plaster/compound and spackle to patch minor holes/cracks in walls and ceilings.

  • Moves office furniture, machinery, equipment, and other materials as requested.

  • Reconfigures, installs, and adjusts office modular furniture and work spaces.

  • Plans repair work using the building's blueprints or equipment manual as needed.

  • Performs routine maintenance on building infrastructure and/or building systems.

  • Troubleshoots issues to resolve vital repairs.

  • Inspects/repairs damaged interior infrastructure surfaces as needed.

  • Performs general maintenance on doors, door closers, and related equipment as assigned.

  • Orders supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance.

  • Proactively inspects and identifies areas in need of repair.

  • General locksmith repairs and key control

  • Responds to work requests in a timely manner

  • Adherence to all health and safety precautions.
