What You Will Achieve
As a Senior Associate Scientist – PAT Specialist, you will be a key member of the cross-functional PCMM (Pfizer Continuous Manufacturing Module) team, providing technical expertise for Process Analytical Technology (PAT) instrumentation within a clinical solid oral dose GMP manufacturing environment. You will provide analytical support to manufacturing campaigns, manage & maintain analytical instrumentation, and contribute to the development and continuous improvement of drug product manufacturing processes. Your role will blend hands-on instrument management with analytical method development, data analysis, and cross-team collaboration.
In this role, you will:
- Manage and maintain PAT analytical instrumentation (e.g., NIR, FBRM Instruments, APC Software) for manufacturing campaigns, including preparation, installation, calibration, and performance checks.
- Monitor instrumentation output during campaigns using advanced process control software & real-time dashboards & analytics.
- Author and maintain system life cycle (SLC) documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and technical reports.
- Effectively interact with project team members for various tasks including presentation of data and critical review of data and preparation of technical reports.
- Demonstrate proficiency with a wide variety of software and information systems.
- Interact effectively with peers and leaders as part of a multi-disciplinary team and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated attention to detail, strong organizational skills, the ability to multitask and meet project timelines.
Here Is What You Need (Minimum Requirements)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Analytical Chemistry or related field, with minimum 3 years relevant experience either in a lab/manufacturing environment, or an academic or industrial research lab.
- Ability to meet project milestones under general supervision, manage expectations for specific projects, ensure delivery of technology/transfer/submission-ready technology, data and documents.
- Experience in problem-solving skills and instrument troubleshooting.
- Ability to adhere to safe laboratory practices
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with high attention to detail, strong organizational skills, team oriented, effective interpersonal and communication skills.
Bonus Points If You Have (Preferred Requirements)
- Experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Experience working in a regulated environment.
- Experience with PAT instrumentation (NIR, FBRM), APC software, and/or data analysis in a GMP environment.
