Job Summary
Responsibilities
- Interfaces with PNF users, including students, faculty, and staff, while providing training and support on process-related matters.
- Aids in developing appropriate training and standard operating procedures for processes and equipment for cleanroom-based nano/microfabrication, including lithography, deposition, etch, mask and optical lithography process design and inorganic thin film deposition.
- Works with researchers, engineers and technical manager to develop and optimize processes to ensure quality, reliability and documentation and develop new improved processes.
- Performs routine preventative maintenance and calibrations on tools in accordance with equipment manufacturer specifications.
- Performs electrical and mechanical root cause troubleshooting of all equipment. Uses test and diagnostic equipment to perform equipment checks, calibrations and characterization.
- Works with vendors for technical assistance and support.
- Establishes preventive maintenance strategies.
- Must be able to continuously work in a cleanroom environment, lift 50 lbs and work with hazardous chemicals.
- With a moderate level of guidance, researches, designs and evaluates a variety of mechanical processes and machinery.
- Performs development activities including drawing board layout, interpretation and implementation of project specifications and documentation requirements.
- Uses solid understanding of construction to install and repair new and existing electronic systems. Analyzes equipment to establish operating data and conduct experimental tests.
- Performs other related work as needed.

Education:
- BA/BS degree in a related field.
Experience:
- Three years of experience with cleanroom-based nano/microfabrication with lithography.
- Three years of technical equipment maintenance, including experience with semiconductor processing equipment.
- Background working in a cleanroom.
- Familiarity with common computer programs and standard laboratory equipment.
Technical Skills or Knowledge:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Proficiency with basic electronic test equipment.
- Knowledge of nanofabrication technology.
- Knowledge of research techniques or methods.
- Read and keep abreast of technical developments.
