About the role

Summary of Essential Functions

  • Responsible for the efficient handling of work assignments, duties, and functions specific to Human Resources.
  • Assists with administrative work through assignments set by the HR Director and Sr. HR director for the proper operation of the Human Resources Department.
  • Supports the other employees within this employee’s section in meeting the overall goals and performance improvement of the Human Resources Department.

 

Educational Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Some college or business trade school helpful.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Must be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communications skills required.
  • Must be able to tolerate ambiguity, flexibility, and adaptability to progressive change.

 

Physical Requirements

  • Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal ranges.
  • Must be able to work in stressful conditions and irregular hours.
  • Requires the ability to distinguish letters and symbols.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Answers and directs phone calls, receives and directs visitors to appropriate staff members, takes messages from incoming requests for other employees.
  • Develops and maintains good working relationships with other departments, employees, and outside agencies for the effective operation of the HR function. Maintains a liaison relationship with department managers and assists them with HR issues as needed.
  • Assists applicants by answering questions about open positions, helping with the on-line application and checking the status of applications.
  • Responsible for answering employee questions when possible and routing employees to the appropriate HR employee for assistance when needed.
  • Provides daily administrative support to the Human Resources Director and Sr. Director and all HR employees on projects and tasks as assigned.
  • Processes ID badges for new and existing employees and contract personnel.
  • Assist new employees with paperwork and questions during the onboarding process.
  • Conducts employee file audits on a monthly basis to check for primary source licensure verification, education records, signed performance evaluations and other required paperwork. Notifies HR Director of missing information and assists in correcting the files.
  • Responsible for keeping up with filing of paperwork for employee files.
  • Demonstrates initiative, knowledge, competence, prioritization, customer service, attention to detail with follow through on the following duties and activities.
  • Performs all other tasks/responsibilities as necessary.
