About the Role
Prime Communications is seeking an experienced Director of Construction to lead the planning, coordination, and execution of new builds, remodels, and renovations for AT&T-branded retail stores across country. You’ll oversee multiple retail construction projects from design through completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in full compliance with AT&T’s brand standards.
This role requires a strong background in commercial construction, especially within the retail sector and the ability to manage contractors, vendors, architects, and multiple concurrent projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full lifecycle of AT&T retail construction projects, including site assessments, permitting, design coordination, scheduling, budgeting, and construction oversight.
- Direct the work of general contractors, architects, and vendors to ensure high-quality execution aligned with AT&T’s retail brand standards.
- Collaborate with internal teams such as Real Estate, Store Services, Sales and Retail Operations, and Procurement to ensure project delivery.
- Maintain responsibility for construction timelines, budgets, site quality, and issue resolution across a portfolio of retail projects.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, building codes, ADA standards, and corporate policies.
- Conduct regular site visits and inspections to monitor progress and ensure quality control.
- Manage contracts, change orders, and invoice approvals.
- Report project status and performance metrics to leadership.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- 8–10+ years of experience in commercial construction, with a strong focus on retail environments (multi-site retail preferred).
- Proven track record of managing multiple construction projects simultaneously across a wide geographic area.
- Excellent understanding of construction methods, permitting processes, building codes, and vendor management.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 360.
- Willingness to travel regularly to job sites.
