The InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown is located in the Wilshire Grand building, standing 73 stories tall in the core of Downtown’s historic, entertainment, financial, arts, and sports districts. Ideally placed at the heart of the revitalized, energy-charged urban center of the United States’ second-largest city, the hotel provides first-class hospitality that seamlessly intertwines with the fabric of the burgeoning Downtown area.
Your Day to Day
The Director of Outlets is responsible to administer the successful planning, organization, and coordination of all food and beverage activities in their designated outlets, while providing exceptional service. Adherence to established policies, standards and procedures is required at all times in order to achieve high levels of customer satisfaction, quality service, compliance with corporate policies and procedures and local regulations, while meeting/exceeding financial goals.
The Director of Outlets coordinates with the Director of Food and Beverage and Hotel Management to achieve improved operations, overcome deficiencies, and institute necessary changes to maintain superior products and services.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Create the Dining Experience:
- Impeccable guest relations, extending courtesy in an authentic manner
- Demonstrate knowledge and make appropriate suggestions to enhance the guest experience
- Ensure professionalism and employee presence
Offer Excellent Products and Services:
- Demonstrate proficiency in booking and seating, product knowledge, pairings and other add-ons
- Demonstrate understanding of front and back of house procedures, processes and needs
Business and Operational Skills:
- Uphold cash handling procedures at all times
- Maintaining exemplary standards for health, sanitation, and safety
- Demonstrate knowledge of inventory and cost-control procedures
- Demonstrate understanding of escalation and reporting procedures
Lead Team to Success:
- Identify, interview, and hire the best employees in accordance with company values and fair employment practices, evaluating experience, knowledge, skills and work traits
- Developing employees through engagement and involvement
- Providing helpful, specific and ongoing feedback to employees
- Support use of empowerment to maximize the guest experience
What We Need From You
- Minimum of four (4) years of restaurant management experience
- Advanced knowledge of food, wine and spirits
- Fine dining and/or luxury hotel experience in a high-volume setting preferred
- Experience and knowledge of Micros or similar point of sale system
- Basic business math and accounting skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, including the ability to create and edit revenue projection models, schedules, and other complex spreadsheets, as well as the creation of professional documents in Word, including menus, signage, and procedural instructions
- Must speak/write/read in English; additional languages are preferred
