Commercial Agricultural Supervisor

KWS Seeds LLC. is looking for a new Commercial Agricultural Supervisor to manage production fields. Ensuring high yields and pure seed productions while utilizing resources effectively and efficiently.
Essential Job Functions:

Locate and secure field isolations for planting seed/transplants.

Establish and maintain a working relationship with Nursery and seed growers ensuring grower and KWS expectations are mutually understood.

Accurately plant nurseries and complete nursery production maps accurately and in a timely manner.

Manage and execute daily operations, maintain records and create reports.

Confirm correct quantities, identification numbers and planting locations.

Create field maps of all nursery plantings following standard operation procedures.

Monitor and track field activities throughout the season and assist with all paperwork.

Manage inventories and supervise the planting and harvesting of AZ commercial nurseries.

Develop and improve cultural field practices including but not limited to field preparation/maintenance and conducting replicated field trials to improve plant health and seed quality

Ensure Company handbook, Rules, Guidelines, Procedures and safety policies are followed and personal protective equipment is used correctly.

Wear Personal Protective Equipment as needed.

Flexibility to work variable hours.

Travel and drive extensively on behalf of the business.

Meet attendance requirements.

Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s Degree with concentration in agriculture or related field
-
3+ years of experience in agriculture
-
Crop management experience.
-
Strong technical skills.
-
Commercial Pesticide Consultant’s License
-
Valid driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Demonstrated experience operating, loading and driving a loaded trailer.

Working Environment:
Must wear required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) as needed. Work in high and precarious places and able to cover multiple areas including staircases safely and quickly. Able to work in varied environmental conditions (loud, hot, cold, dusty, damp, etc). Flexibility to work rotating shifts as needed (including weekend, night shift, and holidays). Ability to work individually and within a team setting. Travel could exceed 30,000/year, which will involve driving a vehicle and travel to other production areas 3 to 4 weeks per year, which will involve over nights.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
