BD's Interventional Surgery worldwide business unit is a leading developer, manufacturer, and marketer of innovative, life-enhancing medical technologies. The Advanced Repair and Reconstruction (AR&R) Platform is the industry leader in hernia repair. This intern will be focused on marketing strategic initiatives and provide support to members of the Global Marketing team responsible for supporting the global hernia portfolio strategy and executing against strategies to achieve commercial excellence. This internship offers opportunities to work in partnership and network with other businesses, cross functional teams, regions and learn several avenues of the marketing discipline.

Our paid Global Marketing Hernia Internship candidates may be located in Warwick, RI, Minneapolis, MN or Vernon Hills, IL., and will be expected to come into the office 3 days per week. We prefer candidates who are interested in working as a BD intern during their junior and senior year, and Master's level candidates who prefer to work during their first and second year. During the academic year, interns may work on a part-time basis, and in the summer months, on a full-time basis.

Key responsibilities will include: Under the guidance of the global Marketing team members:

• Support marketing execution on Hernia Transformation marketing campaigns, including creation of content and deliverables.

• Execute communication strategy to ensure a consistent cadence through Meetings, Newsletters, Videos, etc.

• Support development of marketing collateral.

• Lead Advertising and Promotion (AdProm) content approval. process and systems and maintain portfolio claims matrix

• Support the Sales Enablement Training Program to ensure it is maintained and updated overtime.

• Develop an understanding of the AR&R product portfolio and competitive landscape; develop a Competitive Landscape summary for prioritized portfolios, build relationships with cross functional stakeholders, and run region sales and unit financial analysis.

• Support AR&R Platform Global Innovation Projects as well as international region market expansion strategies by collaborating with cross-functional teams with respect to market access and commercial strategies, partnership with New Product Development and Regulatory pathway and production planning.

• Support AR&R Platform business items; create reports and presentations for the AR&R Platform team, manage team budget tracking report, and lead and send out team monthly report.

About you: To be successful in this role, you require:

• Candidates entering their undergraduate junior year with majors in business, marketing, bio-engineering, engineering or other applicable degrees or masters level program (e.g. MBA) candidates entering their first year with an interest or focus in marketing or healthcare.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Effectively able to prioritize and allocate resources to drive most impactful business outcomes.

• Ability to work both independently and cross-functionally on several projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment focused on accountability.

• Working knowledge of PowerPoint and Excel.

• Demonstrated abstract and concrete problem-solving skills.
