OVERVIEW

We are seeking a talented Cloud PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System) Data Engineer with expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and SQL database maintenance. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining and optimizing our cloud-based PACS infrastructure, ensuring seamless data storage, retrieval, and accessibility for healthcare professionals. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of cloud technology and medical imaging, contributing to improved patient care and healthcare outcomes.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain cloud-based PACS infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the integration of PACS with other healthcare systems and applications.
• Optimize data storage and retrieval processes to ensure fast and efficient access to medical images and related data.
• Implement security best practices to safeguard patient data and ensure compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., HIPAA).
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot any issues related to data storage, retrieval, or access.
• Develop and maintain SQL databases to store and manage medical imaging data.
• Implement data governance policies and procedures to maintain data integrity and quality.
• Provide technical support and training to healthcare professionals using the PACS system.
• Stay updated on emerging trends and technologies in cloud computing, medical imaging, and healthcare IT.
• Familiar with and governance of proper change control procedures for business critical applications.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred, equivalent work experience considered.
• Proven experience as a Data Engineer or similar role, with a focus on cloud-based infrastructure and SQL database maintenance.
• Proficiency in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services, including Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, BigQuery, and Cloud SQL.  Certifications in these platforms preferred
• Strong understanding of PACS architecture and standards (e.g., DICOM, HL7).
• Experience with SQL database design, optimization, and maintenance.
• Familiarity with healthcare IT systems and regulations, such as HIPAA, HL7, FHIR, etc.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., Google Cloud Certified - Professional Data Engineer) preferred.
