Position Summary 

We are seeking a highly experienced and responsible Dormitory Manager to oversee the operations of large dormitory facilities, ensuring the highest standards in housekeeping, guest services, and overall dormitory management. You will have experience in managing commercial and institutional housekeeping services and will be proficient in both oral and written communications in English. This position requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate various services effectively for an environment similar to the FLETC Complex.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of dormitory facilities, including managing housekeeping, room assignments, laundry, and guest services.
  • Supervise and train a team of dormitory staff, ensuring adherence to company policies and high standards of service.
  • Set up and manage a variety of services, including room assignments, laundry operations, and housekeeping services, ensuring timely execution and quality control.
  • Ensure cleanliness, maintenance, and hygiene standards are met for all rooms and common areas.
  • Address guest needs and resolve any issues promptly, ensuring a positive experience for all occupants.
  • Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies, laundry equipment, and dormitory furnishings. Monitor stock levels and place orders as needed.
  • Provide clear, concise communication with both internal staff and guests. Maintain accurate records and reports regarding dormitory operations.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Proficiency in using basic office software (e.g., MS Word, Excel, and email communication).
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with guests and staff at all levels.
  • Experience in dormitory or facility management for a large organization or institutional setting.
  • Familiarity with hospitality or customer service standards.

Qualifications and Experience

Required Background and Experience:

  • Bachelors Degree and at minimum 3 years of recent (within the past 10 years) responsible experience in the management and supervision of commercial and institutional housekeeping and guest services of a similar size and complexity to the FLETC Complex.
  • Proven experience in setting up and managing services such as room assignment, laundry, and housekeeping services.

Physical Demands

  • Sitting/Standing: This role requires the ability to be on your feet moving around for most of the day interacting with others and conducting several multitasking assignments.
  • Walking: Ability to lift and move items as needed for the facility operations.
  • Stooping/Kneeling/Crouching/Crawling: This role may require occasional stooping or kneeling to operate office equipment or carry items to different areas. <
