This role will be for a software technician supporting software testing and builds for various Avionics programs. Daily work entails troubleshooting and working issues and verifications, general testing to deliver product to the customer, and research on customer found issues and verification of proposed fixes.

 

What You Will Do:

• Performs verification work on existing software for Avionics platforms.  Identifies issues or errors and works with engineering to document them.
• Identifies actual or potential problems in test plans or company products; and assists product development engineers in the diagnosis and replication of product failures.
• Maintains documentation of test operations and reports results to engineering.
• Identifies and documents exact sequence of activities that produce malfunctions; writes, modifies, debugs and verifies source code as required; characterizes defects (provides descriptions for passing and failing tests for product evaluation reports).
• Acts independently with moderate supervision to determine methods and procedures on new assignments. Often acts as a facilitator, team leader, mentor and trainer.
• Consistently works on moderate to complex assignments requiring independent action and a high degree of initiative to resolve issues. Makes recommendations within limits for new procedures.
• Moderate to extensive knowledge in specialized functions. A wide and comprehensive acquaintance with, and understanding of, both general and specific aspects of the job and their practical application to complex problems and situations ordinarily encountered. Contributes to the development of concepts and techniques. Completes complex tasks in creative and effective ways.
• Performs audits and tests of software products in accordance with software test plans and procedures.
• Responsible for documentation and software release process.

 

Qualifications You Must Have:

• U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or granted refugee or asylee status) as defined here:  https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-22/chapter-I/subchapter-M/part-120/subpart-C/section-120.62
• Typically requires HS Diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience
• A background in software is required
