As a Lead Full Stack Engineer on the AI Enablement Team, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and deploying scalable applications that leverage advanced AI capabilities to help Humana on this journey. Your work will be transformational for our company as we seek to enable enhanced productivity across a wide range of IT disciplines.

The ideal candidate for this role will possess a strong background in both front-end and back-end development, coupled with a passion for AI and machine learning technologies. You will also need to have experience deploying and running applications in the cloud, including an understanding of the Kubernetes runtime. You will need to collaborate closely with business partners to mature use cases and have an enablement mindset as we are educating on AI capabilities as we partner with teams across the enterprise. Finally, you will need to lead by example, mentoring junior engineers, and collaborate closely with cross-functional technical teams to deliver high-impact solutions that drive Humana’s strategic AI objectives forward.

You will crush this role if (Required Qualifications)

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering or related program;  Equivalent work experience also acceptable
  • You have a minimum of 8 years in full stack development experience, this means hands on keyboard writing code
  • You demonstrate the ability to lead complex projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery
  • You are comfortable working in Agile/Scrum methodologies and able to perform the duties of a lead engineer within the agile framework
  • You have demonstrated experience in leading or mentoring development teams
  • You should be proficient in .NET and Python programing languages
  • You have a strong understanding of frontend technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern frameworks (e.g., React, Angular)
  • You are comfortable with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes
  • You know how to 'do DevOps' and have extensive experience with DevOps practices and Enterprise DevOps platforms like Azure DevOps and GitHub
  • You care about the health of the source code you are responsible for and have knowledge of SonarQube for continuous code quality inspection
  • You are proficient in using Git and managing repositories on platforms like GitHub or GitLab, this includes a deep understanding of branching and environment management
  • You are an excellent verbal and written communicator with the ability to engage developers on technical questions and update leadership on progress
  • You have a proven track record of collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
  • You enjoy experimenting with new technologies and are able to troubleshoot complex issues leveraging strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Bonus Points (Preferred Qualifications)

  • You hold a Master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related discipline
  • You have experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform
  • You have hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation
  • You have experience using Artifactory for artifact repository management
  • You have familiarity with applying AI and machine learning techniques to business use cases, and working with stakeholders to define value

  • Home base is Louisville, KY

Reporting Information:

  • You'll report to the Associate Director, AI Enablement
  • You'll be part of Enterprise Engineering Enablement organization, responsible for Enterprise DevOps and Engineer Experience
