Job Purpose/Background

Product Development is a key component of our strategy to maintain and grow our leadership position in the asset management industry.  The team focuses on iShares ETFs across asset classes, engaging in strategic and commercial initiatives to drive business initiatives and expand and maintain the growing indexing product range.

Key Responsibilities and Requirements

The key responsibilities involve supporting US iShares product leadership in product innovation and development, range management, and strategic product priorities across our ETF and Index Fund ranges. This includes development of new fund launch strategies, supporting commercialization of growth segments, and range management.

The successful candidate will be required to:

  • Contribute to managing the innovation pipeline, partnering with internal operational, markets and investment teams to drive prioritization of and engagement in new product launches and enhancements.

  • Work in partnership with internal colleagues towards developing new product commercialization strategy and product pipeline prioritization by taking into consideration sales and client feedback, market data, as well as the broad competitor landscape

  • Work with Sales teams to target the right client segments and scale new products

  • Present in front of internal committees and Boards to request approval for new products and enhancements to existing products

  • Contribute to strategic product management projects, such as regular range reviews and range enhancements to ensure that the product offering is always meeting client demand and offering a comprehensive breath of different investment tools

  • Partner with BlackRock’s client facing teams, markets and investment teams,, product research and product strategy to implement the product development agenda

Knowledge/Experience

  • Previous meaningful experience in the investment funds industry

  • Prior experience in product development and product management

  • Knowledge of index construction methodologies and terminology

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including written and presentation abilities

  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment

  • Highly organized and able to manage to tight deadlines

  • Strong proven project management skills and proactive approach to lead and drive projects and business priorities

  • Ability to drive consensus and handle conflicting views and competing interests

  • Commercial awareness and ability to understand client needs and ways to solve them

  • Attention to detail and ability to pick up and digest new information quickly

  • Degree in a quantitative field is an advantage

  • 10 year+ industry experience


 

For California only the salary range for this position is $190,000 - $240,000. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including heath care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
