No matter where you work in the Maples Group, you will be part of a global team.  The Opportunity / Who We Seek We are looking for a Senior Financial Accountant to join our Finance team as part of our financial services business in Dublin.   As part of the global expansion of the Maples Group’s financial services offering, our Dublin office opened its doors in 2006. Located in the city centre, a commitment to service excellence and investment in our people quickly established Dublin as a regional hub where our 200+ teammates deliver best-in-class solutions to clients worldwide alongside our colleagues in legal services.  Responsibilities:  The Senior Financial Accountant is a varied and wide-ranging role that includes, but is not limited to, the following:  
  • Assist in the oversight of the company's general ledger and related account reconciliations; including but not limited to revenues, expenses, assets, and liabilities. This includes the preparation and review of journal entries.
  • Preparation of revenue reporting and analysis, as well as monitoring of all client balances for the respective business units
  • Timely and accurate preparation of monthly management and statutory reports for a number of group entities, including analysis and commentary.
  • Preparation of annual financial statements under international and local company law for multiple legal entities, including stand alone and consolidated structures, including supporting schedules and reports.
  • Preparation of annual financial statements under International Financial Reporting Standards and local company law for multiple legal entities, including stand alone and consolidated structures, including supporting schedules and reports.
  • Liaising with external auditors and specialists and successful completion of year end audit under tight deadlines.
  • Preparation and monitoring of statutory requirements to ensure compliance with relevant obligations, laws and regulations, such as annual income tax filings, sales taxes filings, board reporting and regulatory submissions and/or requirements
  • Preparation of the annual local budget and assisting in the forecasting process
  • Working closely with finance project lead(s) to assist in implementing new systems and financial processes, including the application of accounting policies and procedures
  • Assisting with ad-hoc queries and reporting from internal and external stakeholders
  • Supervising junior members of local finance team and providing supports to the finance teams globally
Requirements  
  • The successful candidate will have a university degree in accounting or finance
  • A professional accounting qualification (ACCA/ACA/CPA or equivalent)
  • A minimum of 2+ years post qualification experience in accounting in industry or audit firms with a leading accountancy practice
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written (fluent written and oral English)
  • Ability to display analytical and pragmatic thinking
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards, particularly IFRS 15 and IFRS 16
  • Previous exposure to regulated entities would be advantageous.
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office with advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • The successful candidate will have excellent time management, proven ability to adhere to strict deadlines, organizational and prioritization skills
