Position Summary
The National Account Director, Corporate Accounts will be responsible for implementing market access strategies across GPO, Federal, and Specialty Distribution customer segments. This role involves developing and growing key relationships, negotiating contracts, and collaborating with external stakeholders to understand market dynamics and contracting opportunities. The National Account Director will also monitor competitive dynamics and communicate changes internally to inform strategic contract decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement market access strategies impacting the GPO, Federal and Specialty Distribution customer segments.
- Collaborate with relevant internal stakeholders to ensure comprehensive alignment with broader corporate objectives.
- Monitor the competitive environment within relevant therapeutic classes and provide feedback through appropriate market access channels.
- Enable leadership to evaluate the need for pricing or contracting changes and adjust relevant customer messaging.
- Develop and grow key relationships, including with the C-suite where appropriate, within assigned accounts.
- Negotiate applicable contracts and agreements to provide access to BioNTech products.
- Collaborate with key external stakeholders to gather knowledge of relevant therapeutic areas, current treatment trends, and the existing competitive contracting landscape.
- Work with key customers to understand market segmentation, potential, and contracting opportunities within each GPO’s network of practices.
- Identify and cultivate relationships with key business thought leaders within practice networks, including leaders within targeted aggregators.
- Negotiate relevant agreements with distribution partners, monitor any issues with delivery, and communicate internally as appropriate.
- Create, implement, and maintain detailed account plans for targeted accounts, including pre-launch, launch, and post-launch activities.
Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree required, MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry with at least 5+ years of experience working with GPO, Federal and distribution partners.
- Established existing relationships with customers within the GPO and distribution segments.
- Expert in community oncology, including buy and bill, ASP management, pricing strategies, payer coverage strategies, and proposed legislation affecting the marketplace.
- Comprehensive understanding of the relevant contracting processes with a proven track record negotiating GPO and distribution agreements.
- Expert-level understanding of the healthcare market and factors influencing BioNTech’s business.
- Strong understanding of the values and needs of customers, and the business acumen to help develop growth strategies where needed.
- Highly evolved interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop, grow, and maintain collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Executive presence in front of customers.
- Ability to inspire, create, and execute action plans without direct authority.
- Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with all applicable internal stakeholders, including but not limited to medical, legal, compliance, analytics, operations, marketing, and sales.
- Travel up to 50% of the time is required.
