About the role

Praytell is a creative communications agency made by teams with strategic minds and spirited hearts. We create timely, integrated, headline-worthy campaigns across social, earned, digital, and more. After 10 years of cooking up award-winning work, we know one thing for sure - we’re just warming up.

As Supervisor, Media Strategy, you will be:

  • Joining Praytell’s Media Team, dedicated to supporting our rapidly-growing travel practice, which represents national, regional and city-level DMOs; hotels and accommodations; airlines; and travel-adjacent lifestyle brands.
  • Accountable for inserting our travel and tourism clients into culturally-relevant media conversations, both in the travel space and beyond (think: lifestyle, entertainment, design, wellness and business media).
  • Driving media strategies and all aspects of their execution in collaboration with the account team.
  • Providing strategic input on campaign strategies and plans, sharing strong, insight-driven POVs, builds and pushes.
  • Developing compelling media angles and identifying feature storytelling opportunities to generate leads and secure coverage; both traditional (e.g., print, online, broadcast) and emerging (e.g., Substacks, podcasts, e-newsletters).
  • Working with the account team on media lists, press releases, briefing docs, bylines and mailers.
  • Staying up-to-date on industry news, trends and updates to inform media strategy and recommend new pitch angles/ideas.
  • Cultivating and expanding your relationships with travel and lifestyle/non-endemic media; networking with media to build relationships via virtual/IRL meet-and-greets.
  • Managing proactive and reactive media relations for clients.
  • Supporting account leads with planning, strategy and briefs.
  • Collaborating with other members of the Media Team to develop ongoing industry POVs, share learnings from media meetings, and act as a media relations brain trust for the PR department.
  • Participating in new business opportunities (note, this may require occasional travel), as well as mentorship and training programs for junior staff development.

Requirements

Experience you have:

  • You have 4-6 years of PR experience, preferably in an agency setting, with at least 3 of those years working with travel, tourism and/or destination brands. If in-house, working with a travel brand is a must.

  • You're comfortable creating media strategies and plans and working with the team to take it through execution.

  • You’re a strong writer, capable of whipping up a press release, briefing doc or byline as needed.
  • You’re comfortable interfacing with clients and media.
  • You're familiar working in an IAT model, with other PR, marketing and advertising partners.
