Riverside Medical Group is seeking a strategic and compassionate Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to lead clinical psychiatric operations at Riverside Mental Health & Recovery Center (RMHRC) in Hampton, Virginia.

🧠 Chief Medical Officer

Riverside Medical Group – RMHRC | Hampton, Virginia | Full-Time (50% Clinical / 50% Leadership)

This hybrid role combines 50% direct psychiatric care with 50% executive leadership, offering a unique opportunity to shape mental health services while maintaining hands-on patient engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

🩺 Clinical Duties (50%):

• Provide patient care in a Psychiatric Emergency Department, Mental Health Outpatient Clinic or Inpatient facility for those with a primary mental health or substance use need.
• Conduct evaluations, develop treatment plans, and manage psychotropic medications
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure holistic care
• Maintain compliance with DBHDS and DNV standards

🧠 Leadership Duties (50%):

• Oversee medical staff administration and quality improvement initiatives
• Lead strategic planning and implementation of clinical programs
• Enhance Epic EHR workflows and data analytics
• Mentor providers and foster a culture of collaboration and innovation
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and drive performance metrics

Qualifications:

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) in Psychiatry – Required
• Board Certification in Psychiatry, Emergency Medicine or Family Medicine – Required
• Licensed or eligible to practice in Virginia – Required within 60 days
• Valid DEA registration – Required at hire
• CPI Advanced Skills – Required within 14 days of hire
• MBA, MHA, MMM, or MPH – Preferred
• 7–10 years of clinical experience with increasing administrative responsibility – Preferred

• Exempt Status: Yes
• Physical Demands: Sedentary with occasional lifting and walking
• Bloodborne & Airborne Pathogen Exposure: Level 1
