Purpose
This part-time position (24 hrs./wk.) will support the completion of planning and capital facilities projects on College of Natural Sciences (CNS) buildings and campuses, as well as assist in the collection, analysis, and presentation of CNS facility space data and relevant research topics. The 6-month assignment may be extended based on continued funding and satisfactory performance.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with University stakeholders to plan for, carry out, commission, and close out CNS facilities capital projects: Follow up via phone and/or email with each project manager for CNS projects. Document progress of each project and provide a report to CNS leadership. Serve as the CNS primary contact for commissioning efforts on CNS projects. Push commissioning efforts to follow university standards and meet CNS expectations. Follow up at the end of each project and ensure receipt of close-out documentation for every CNS project.
Create Owner’s Project Requirements (OPR) documents for each project: Lead OPR workshops and manage stakeholder input. Complete OPR documentation and gather stakeholder approvals.
Create and update digital floorplans and floorplan data for CNS spaces: Collaborate with Location Information Services to update GIS maps. Collaborate with CNS facilities staff to update occupant data.
Update and maintain infrastructure documentation for all CNS campuses: Work toward the creation of a thorough library of facility infrastructure documentation for CNS facilities. Transfer project-related close-out documentation to the appropriate campus. Scan and file as-built documentation from projects completed using paper plans and specifications.
Complete classroom and field training requirements.
Other responsibilities and functions as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field and at least 5 years' project management experience.
Able to accept supervision and provide feedback constructively
Proven ability to work both independently or as part of a cohesive team.
Passion for learning and solving complex problems.
Able to develop proficiency in related software applications and field support skills.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Excellent collaboration skills with a strong team-oriented mindset.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in a higher education campus in a facilities role.
Detailed understanding of HVAC and lighting controls.
Experience with commissioning scientific facilities.
Experience producing diagrams and schematics using computer aided drafting software.
Proficient with MS Office (Word, Power Point, Visio, Excel), Adobe (Acrobat, Photoshop), and computer aided design software (AutoCAD, Solidworks, ProE)
Driving Required
This job requires a class "C" operator's driver's license. The applicant must provide a three-year driving record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, a Texas driver's license must be obtained within 30 days of becoming a Texas resident.
Salary Range
$53,664
