Role Overview 

The English Language Learning (ELL) division of Pearson is looking for a talented and motivated professional to join our growing organization as Senior QA Automation Engineer. In this exciting role you will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing automated tests to ensure platform quality. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

- Design and implement automated testing frameworks for both backend and frontend components. 

- Develop and maintain high-quality automation code for various testing software. 

- Collaborate with development teams to understand system design and architecture. 

- Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases. 

- Identify, record, document thoroughly, and track bugs. 

- Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved. 

- Liaise with internal teams (e.g., developers and product managers) to identify system requirements. 

- Monitor debugging process results and investigate the causes of non-conforming software. 

- Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies. 

 

Qualifications: 

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (superior professional education (Superior FP diploma) is also accepted). 

- Minimum 6 years work experience as a QA tester or similar role. 

- Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes. 

- Experience in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases. 

- Hands-on experience with automated testing tools. 

 

Technical knowledge: 

- Jenkins knowledge 

- Logging tools (preferably Splunk, but others like Grafana or Kibana are accepted)  

- E2E testing (Selenium,Cypress or Playwright preferably) 

- BDD testing (Cucumber or similar) 

- Performance testing (JMeter or similar) 

- API testing (RestAPI, Postman or similar) 

- Security testing is a plus 

 

Skills: 

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. 

- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. 

- Strong communication skills. 
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
