Position Overview: A Cold Storage Forklift Operator is responsible for receiving, rotating, and taking the inventory of all products allocated to whatever cooler they are working out of. They operate the forklift to accommodate storage of products within the freezer, including forklifts, power pallet jacks, and a scan gun system.
The Cold Storage Forklift Operator ensures the product is properly rotated, maintaining a clean and organized department. They guarantee the accuracy of inventory and freshness of product before delivering it to the production floor. Position Responsibilities:

The primary responsibility is to safely operate a forklift
Ability to work in a cold environment
Physical fitness and strength
Basic math and computer skills
Knowledge of safety procedures and protocols in a cold storage environment
Experience operating warehouse equipment
Attention to detail
Ability to work in a team environment
Flexibility and adaptability
Strong work ethic and reliability
Excellent communication skills
Receiving and Inspecting Goods:
Unloading trucks and checking incoming shipments for accuracy.
Inspecting goods for damage or signs of spoilage, ensuring they meet quality standards.
Verifying that products are stored at the appropriate temperatures during transit.
Storing Goods in Temperature-Controlled Areas:
Organizing and placing items in cold storage areas (freezers or refrigerators) according to established guidelines.
Ensuring proper stacking and organization to prevent damage, contamination, or spoilage.
Monitoring storage temperatures regularly to ensure products are stored in optimal conditions.
Experience in a Blast zone
Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Requirements:

Allergen Training
HACCP Training as Required
GMP training
1+ year, experience operating ride-on pallet jacks & forklifts
1+ year, experience in a Cold Storage warehouse environment
Experience working with scan gun systems
Must be able to read and understand internal communication
Must be able to work a full day in cold temperatures
Detailed Orientated
Ability to read labels and associated documents

Skills Required for Certification:

Guided Training - up to 40 hours
Forklift Operation Training
Forklift Certification
Functional Process Training
Battery and Propane Safety Training
Battery or Propane Certification
Current CJ Safety & Compliance Training
