Job Description
Our risk and consulting group, under Allied Universal® Enhanced Protection Services, is hiring an Armed Residential Security Team Lead. Hours are 12 hour shifts, 4 days a week.
Duties & Qualifications:
The Team Lead – Residential Protection Agents is responsible for the smooth operation of the Residential Protection Detail by applying sound leadership principles and judgement at all times. The Team Lead is responsible for client satisfaction and to ensure the physical protection of a high-profile client and the residence.
Protective Agents are often directed to work overtime (OT), nights, holidays and weekends and often travel domestically and overseas. Applicants should be in good overall physical, mental and emotional condition, have a reputation as a team player and be willing to work long hours with ever-changing schedules.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to tactfully negotiate conflict and remain flexible is a must. Protective Agents must possess the ability to interact with all levels of corporation management, liaison internally and externally with a multitude of other departments and personnel. Strong oral communication and representational skills. Candidates must be able to brief, defend, persuade and instruct others on security requirements and policies. Demonstrated leadership, teamwork and organizational skills and the ability to write in a clear and precise manner are also required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Interact and communicate by being professional, proactive, personable and responsive with the principals, vendors, employees and others to ensure client satisfaction.
- Primary point of contact for the principal for overall protective physical security. Address any high-level concerns to ensure quick resolution.
- Participate in the interview process, making recommendations for candidates that would possess the knowledge, skills and abilities for the detail.
- Identify areas of improvement in people and processes. Provide suggestions to Detail Lead and Program Manager to foster team cohesion and increase employee engagement.
- Monitor the performance of assigned personnel providing timely feedback under the advisement of upper management and/or human resources.
- Review and approve employee timesheets and paid time off requests.
- Safeguard and maintain highly sensitive information of the company and the client.
- Demonstrate excellent teamwork skills (collaboration, communication, cooperation, etc.) in a cross-functional team (RST and EP) environment. Provide and receive constructive feedback for improvement of team operations.
- Provide shift coverage as a Residential Protection Agent as needed.
- Must be able to pass the physical ability test (PAT) and maintain overall physical condition to pass the annual maintenance/wellness PAT.
- Maintain professional personal appearance.
- Operate motor vehicles in a safe and legal manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree; Advanced degree preferred. Be physically fit and possess a valid driver's license. Extensive military, corporate security or law enforcement experience, preferably in a military special operations branch, protective operations with a minimum of 7 years combined experience. Applicant should possess excellent oral and written communication and analytical skills, have high levels of integrity, and trustworthiness.
- A graduate of a reputable executive protection training school desired
- California Guard Card and Exposed Firearms Permit is required
- Experience and understanding of corporate culture
- Extensive medial experience (EMT, First Responder, 18D, Paramedic, Navy Corpsman) desired
- Experience with after action report writing
