The Department of Economic Security, Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD), is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Senior Lean Coach. DDD provides individuals with developmental disabilities, and their families, services and supports that are flexible, high quality, and member driven. These services empower individuals with developmental disabilities to lead self-directed, healthy, and meaningful lives.

Applicants for this position cannot be licensed or certified by the DDD Office of Licensing Certification and Regulation, cannot have a principal interest in or have a spouse or a close family with principal interest in a DDD Qualified Vendor Agreement, and cannot be employed or subcontracted by a DDD Qualified Vendor.

This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

Job Duties:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Facilitates Lean transformation initiatives and works on high priority projects that impact DDD members. Manages improvement planning and process flow. Provides oversight and collaborates with executive leadership on activities and projects ensuring understanding, continuous improvement activities and adherence to the standards that are in place.
• Serves as a subject matter expert and leads research activities related to quality initiatives. Drives a culture of continuous improvement. Responsible for providing actionable insights for managerial decision-making to drive improvements in the delivery of support and services to DDD members.
• Collaborates with Division executives & managers to use strategic plan management & performance management practices to make informed program & process improvements. Analyzes & implements operational efficiency & effectiveness in all areas of the Division. Implements the change management structure to support the change activities across the Division.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge in:
• Lean tools and principles.
• Strategic planning processes.
• Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and how to track and measure progress towards strategic objectives.
Skills in:
• Communicating effectively in individual and group settings, both orally and in writing.
• Critical thinking and problem solving.
• Expressing ideas and information concisely with all levels of the organization.
Ability to:
• Independently lead with minimal direction.
• Make difficult decisions.
• Partner with various stakeholders through change management activities.

Selective Preference(s):

The ideal candidate for this position will have:
• 5 + years demonstrated experience in developing strategic plans and hold a certification in continuous improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma Green Belt or higher, Lean or similar.
