Summary:
The HR Generalist you will be responsible for carrying out tactical and strategic endeavors including onboarding, employee relations, wage garnishments, unemployment claims, earnings verification, recruitment, documentation and streamlining, reporting and record-keeping, and ensuring that Autocar complies on all aspects of employment law. You will work closely with the Human Resources team and the talent acquisition team and will be assigned other tasks and projects as needed. Our Human Resources team is vital to the success of Autocar and our employees and as an ambassador of the company you will be expected to represent both the best interests of the company and our employees.
Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or a related field
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of Human Resources generalist experience (experience in a manufacturing organization with a mix of hourly and salaried employees a plus).
- Experience with a union workforce.
- PHR Certification a plus but not required.
Skills:
- Experience supporting a workforce comprised of exempt and non-exempt employees.
- Solid understanding of employment laws and practices.
- Proven problem-solving abilities.
- Resilient, creative, and flexible nature.
- Capacity to multi-task, prioritize and complete work in a fast paced, often-changing environment.
- Customer service and ambassador mindset.
Work Environment: Ex. Office setting and plant environment
Physical Requirements:
- Capable of wearing task specific personal protective equipment which may include dust mask, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, and ear protection.
- Capable of meeting OSHA standards for manual lifting guidelines: < 50lbs
- While performing the duties of this job it is required to stand, walk, and use hands to operate objects, reach with hands or arms; climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch when necessary for job activity.
- Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods.
- Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions and temperatures.
