Children’s Home Society of South Dakota is currently seeking a Learning & Development Advisor to perform a variety of professional and technical human resource work in accordance with the organization’s Mission Statement and Core Values. Responsibilities include creation, development and implementation of learning and development programs for employees.
What You’ll Do:
- Learning Program Design: Develop comprehensive learning and development strategies that align with the organization's goals and address employee skill gaps and development needs.
- Training Delivery: Plan and deliver training sessions, workshops, and development programs for employees at all levels, utilizing various formats such as in-person, virtual, and online platforms.
- Content Development: Create engaging and effective learning materials, including training modules, e-learning courses, videos, and other resources.
- Needs Assessment: Conduct training needs assessments to identify skill gaps and learning priorities across different departments and job roles.
- Professional Development: Design career development paths, mentorship programs, and leadership development initiatives to support employees' growth within the organization.
- Performance Support: Provide ongoing support and resources to help employees apply new skills and knowledge in their roles.
- Evaluation and Measurement: Monitor and assess the effectiveness of learning programs through feedback, evaluations, and performance metrics.
- Learning Technology: Research and implement learning technologies and tools to enhance the delivery and accessibility of training content.
- Collaboration: Partner with HR, department heads, and other stakeholders to ensure that learning initiatives align with organizational goals and priorities.
- Maintain records of training and development activities, attendance, results of tests and assessments, and retraining requirements.
- Some travel required.

- Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS), e-learning platforms, and other learning technologies.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing organizational needs and learner preferences.
- A genuine commitment to the mission of Children's Home Society and a desire to contribute to its success through employee learning and development.
- Must be able to fulfill the responsibilities of the position with minimal supervision. Makes prudent decisions.
- Must be able to conduct oneself in a manner that promotes professionalism and teamwork throughout the organization, setting an example for others to follow. Responsibility for highly confidential and sensitive information requires ethics and professionalism beyond reproach.
- Must be able to organize and prioritize tasks to maximize productive results. Deadlines are met and services expediently delivered.
Schedule:
Monday-Friday 8:00 AM-4:30PM
Compensation: $48,000-$60,000 annually (Depending on Education/Experience)
