What You Will Do:
Guidehouse is seeking a Data Scientist to join our Defense and Security Segment, where the individual will collect, transform, integrate, and analyze data in support of organizational and mission goals, and support decision-making for financial management and information technology programs within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Accessing data sources, establishing data connections, and pre-processing data for analysis
Aggregate, clean and organize datasets from disparate sources and perform quality assurance of these tasks
Manipulating large data sets, data mining, and structuring of raw data using open sources tools such as SQL, Python, AWS, and Databricks to formulate or recognize patterns to generate new information and unlock information and insights that help the organization drive decision making
Creating AI-driven applications to streamline processes and enable data-driven decision making
Ensuring data governance and quality assurance standards are met
What You Will Need:
A Bachelor’s degree is a required.
US Citizenship is required
Minimum of THREE (3) years of experience in data-related roles.
You should have experience in performing data analytics to address management and operational challenges.
Advanced proficiency in data analytics programming languages and tools such as SQL, Python, and Databricks is required.
You should be proficient in Microsoft Suite, especially MS PowerPoint, MS Word, and MS Excel.
Prior experience with statistical analysis, predictive modelling, machine learning, and artificial intelligence is necessary.
You should have prior experience training AI/ML algorithms using Python packages.
Experience with Databricks, including Unity Catalog, Lakehouse Monitoring, AutoML, and MLflow, is required.
You should be proficient in AWS software including AWS Sagemaker, Kendra, Glue, RDS, Athena, Aurora, and/or Bedrock.
A foundational understanding of generative AI and the ability to create generative AI solutions is necessary.
Prior experience working on Agile teams is required.
You should be capable of collaborating and working in a team environment, as well as working independently.
You should be able to identify and address client needs, build relationships with clients, demonstrate flexibility in prioritizing and completing tasks, and communicate potential conflicts to a supervisor.
You should be able to communicate effectively to various audiences, including various levels of management and external clients, in a professional environment.
You should have the ability to facilitate meetings and present topics to diverse groups of functional and technical staff.
What Would Be Nice To Have:
A Master's degree in Data Science or a related field is required.
Minimum FIVE (5) years of experience in data-related roles is necessary.
A background in both quantitative and qualitative analysis.
Experience in commercial or public sector consulting firms is preferred.
Prior experience in supporting federal finance organizations.
The candidate should have intermediate proficiency in Tableau dashboard development.
