Collins Aerospace is seeking a detail-oriented Shipping Supervisor to manage and streamline shipping operations in our manufacturing facility. The role involves overseeing daily shipping activities, leading and training a team, and implementing process improvements to ensure timely and accurate deliveries. Responsibilities include supervising shipping team, preparing shipping documentation, managing inventory, addressing customer service issues, and analyzing performance metrics.

This is an onsite role in Lenexa, KS and will work a 4x10 schedule. This role may be eligible for relocation.

What You Will Do:

Supervise Shipping Operations:

• Oversee daily shipping operations, ensuring all activities are performed efficiently and in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Coordinate with production, warehouse, and logistics teams to ensure timely and accurate shipment of products.
• Monitor and manage shipping schedules to meet delivery deadlines.

Team Management:

• Lead, train, and motivate a team of shipping clerks and associates.
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.
• Schedule shifts and manage staffing levels to ensure adequate coverage.

Process Improvement:

• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance shipping efficiency and reduce costs.
• Ensure adherence to safety standards and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for shipping processes.

Inventory and Documentation:

• Oversee the preparation and verification of shipping documentation, including bills of lading, packing lists, and customs forms.
• Manage inventory levels and ensure accurate record-keeping of shipped and received goods.
• Resolve any discrepancies related to shipments and inventory.

Customer Service:

• Address and resolve shipping-related issues or complaints from customers.
• Coordinate with customer service and sales teams to ensure accurate and timely fulfillment of orders.

Reporting and Analysis:

• Prepare and analyze shipping reports to track performance metrics, shipping costs, and delivery times.
• Provide regular updates to management on shipping operations and any potential issues.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Shipping experience in a manufacturing environment
• SAP experience
• Hazmat shipping experience
• Advanced proficiency in software programs such as: Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of employees and management
• Prior leadership experience
