Your goal is to ensure that our product is developed to high standards and that Causeway retains a competitive edge in the market.</p><p></p><p>The key areas of responsibility for the Senior Software Engineer include:<br/>• Technical Delivery<br/>• Technical Innovation<br/>• Support the delivery of Software.</p><p></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><p><br/>• Design, code, test and debug technical solutions including complex components, ensuring that quality standards are achieved.<br/>• Become a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in areas of the applications working on.<br/>• Provide some legacy product support (fixing defects) in older technologies, including active involvement in moving the legacy product forward into newer web technologies.<br/>• Write clean, well-designed code, following best practices.<br/>• Estimate effort required to accomplish requirements and ensure that schedules are met.<br/>• Collaborate with other team members to help specify, design, and develop software, meeting product requirements.<br/>• Identify process deficiencies and propose and implement solutions and improvements.<br/>• Ensure the technical product is developed accurately, based on best practice standards, within budget and on time to support the business objectives.<br/>• Work with the security team to ensure data security standards are consistently achieved.<br/>• Ensures that technical implementation is technically sound, defect rates are minimised, and products are inexpensive to maintain and support.<br/>• Communicates frequently with Scrum Master, Development Director &amp; Product Owner, and Support teams when required.<br/>• Takes responsibility for their personal development, ensuring that knowledge and skills are up to date and maintained, including emerging trends that may be relevant to solutions being developed.<br/>• Continuously strive for innovative solutions and make suggestions for improvements that will provide benefit to the business in terms of improved efficiency, effectiveness, and productivity.<br/>• Be willing to listen to and support colleagues, devoting time to sharing knowledge, infusing confidence, and expressing positive expectations.</p><p></p><p><strong>Key Skills, Experience &amp; Qualifications</strong></p><p><strong>Essential:</strong></p><p>• Previous background in a similar software engineering role.<br/>• Minimum 3 years experience in Java and Spring Boot<br/>• A good understanding and experience of React<br/>• Experience of API’s / REST.<br/>• Experience with PostgreSQL<br/>• Able to identify technical risks and propose alternative solutions.<br/>• Awareness of current trends and developments in software engineering.<br/>• Experience with Agile (Scrum) methodologies and project management.<br/>• Good knowledge of quality standards, legislation, and best practice.<br/>• Degree level or equivalent education preferred in a relevant subject such as computer sciences, computer engineering, information management systems, software development or business information systems etc.<br/>• Highly developed attention to detail.<br/><br/></p><p><strong>Desirable:</strong><br/><br/>• Previous experience with Java, .Net or JavaScript, GIT, IntelliJ IDEA or equivalent IDE, continuous integration tools, jUnit or equivalent testing frameworks, and the Java Spring library.<br/>• Experience in Facilities Management technology would be advantageous.<br/>• Awareness and experience of Google Kubernetes Engine and GCP offerings plus other engines such as GitHub Actions or Azur
