About the role

AT A GLANCE

The Senior Director, Data is a strategic leadership role responsible for building and scaling RVO Health’s data capabilities.  This leader will have responsibility for all data functions (data engineering, data analytics, data science, and AI) inside our Prevention business and will partner closely with senior executives and business stakeholders to define and execute a unified data strategy that drives measurable business outcomes.  The successful candidate will be responsible for fulfilling their job duties in the following work arrangements:

To prioritize togetherness, culture, and accountability, RVO Health operates on an in-office work schedule. We expect employees to work from our Fort Mill, SC office Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday each week. You are welcome to work remotely Mondays and Fridays if you wish.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and oversee a team of data leaders spanning Analytics, Engineering, Data Science, and AI, providing strategic direction, mentorship, and professional development to cultivate a high-performing, cross-functional data organization.
  • Set and communicate the data strategy for the Prevention business, building strong alignment with senior leaders and ensuring each discipline is represented and resourced appropriately.
  • Collaborate with senior executives and key stakeholders to define data requirements and deliver actionable, strategic insights that influence business outcomes.  
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of advanced data models, algorithms, statistical methodologies, and AI/ML systems to support product needs.
  • Manage teams responsible for delivering results across a portfolio of products or business units, ensuring operational excellence and impact. 
  • Oversee, manage, and optimize the profit and loss (P&L) for each data team, driving financial accountability and resource allocation. 
  • Own execution of the current data roadmap and lead capacity planning for future initiatives to ensure scalability and sustainability. 
  • Stay current on emerging trends, tools, and techniques across data analytics, engineering, data science, and AI to maintain a competitive edge and foster a culture of innovation within the teams.

What We’re Looking For

Required:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., data science, statistics, computer science, engineering) or equivalent experience.
  • Extensive experience across multiple data disciplines, including data analytics, data engineering, data science, and/or AI/ML.
  • Proven leadership experience building and managing large, multi-functional data teams and developing data people leaders.
  • Deep understanding of modern data infrastructure, including data warehousing, data lakes, ETL/ELT pipelines, and cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery).
  • Strong knowledge of machine learning, statistical modeling, and AI/ML frameworks, with experience guiding their application in a business context.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and programming languages (e.g., Python, R, SQL) and familiarity with ML platforms and orchestration tools.
  • Track record of defining and delivering AI strategies, including generative AI, LLMs, or intelligent automation initiatives.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with senior-level stakeholders and leadership, including the ability to translate complex technical concepts into business value.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a strategic, data-driven mindset.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage P&L, prioritize competing demands, and drive accountability across large, distributed teams.

Preferred:

  • Experience in healthcare ideally with consumer or patient facing applications.
  • Familiarity with healthcare data standards and privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA).
  • Experience building and scaling data platforms to support self-serve analytics and democratized data access.

Pursuant to various state Fair Pay Acts, below is a summary of compensation elements for this role at the company. The following benefits are provided by RVO Health, subject to eligibility requirements.

  • Starting Salary: $180,000 - $225,000 
    • LTIP and Bonus Potential
