POSITION SUMMARY
The Vice President, Community Investment will be instrumental in a wide variety of initiatives to support community development and drive sustainable growth. The right person for this role will be driven to learn, solve problems, set strategy, and make a positive impact. This position will be responsible for overseeing various aspects of CDFI (Community Development Financial Institution) program application strategy, CDC (Community Development Corporation) management, exploring community development opportunities, and loan fund management.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Work closely with the Director of Strategic Lending to develop and execute the overall strategy for the Strategic Lending department.
- CDFI Program Applications
- Oversee strategy, review, and timely submission of CDFI program applications to the CDFI Fund.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external partners to gather and coordinate information for successful application submission.
- Stay abreast of regulatory updates and industry best practices to achieve CDFI program awards.
- CDC Management
- Responsible for the management, reporting, and compliance of the bank’s Community Development Corporation(s) (CDC).
- Identify and execute additional opportunities for the bank’s CDC.
- Community Development Opportunities
- Explore partnerships with community development nonprofits or other entities such as affordable housing projects, small business initiatives, and other opportunities.
- Evaluate and implement community development opportunities such as partnering with nonprofits and foundations on loan programs, loan guarantees, and other similar initiatives.
- Loan Fund Management
- Develop and implement strategies for the effective management and investment in loan funds to support community development goals.
- Responsible for compliance and reporting requirements of loan fund(s).

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- College degree in business related field preferred.
- Solid understanding of credit risk analysis and underwriting principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Five (5) years banking experience required.
- Commercial lending or similar experience required.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail.
- Proven ability to make sound decisions, manage competing priorities, and meet targets within a fast-paced environment.
