A Engineering Coordinator takes pride in their familiarity with standard laboratory practices and current good manufacturing practices (cGMP) at Illumina.  A Engineering Coordinator must be both a competent operator, who can work independently, and capable of overseeing the flow of work across a variety of production lines. Excellent attendance is required and is a critical function of the job, as this individual contributor performs daily work that the entire team relies upon. It is expected that an operator in this role works well in cross-functional teams and communicates well with support groups. The Engineering Coordinator’s ability to support the shift lead and think independently, is vital in this job function. 

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate with multiple working groups the upcoming PM activities to ensure work is completed on-time

• Perform documented and undocumented maintenance activities

• Work with instrument systems that will require electrical, pneumatic and laser troubleshooting

• Work with Vendors to schedule on-site maintenance

• Make suggestions for continuous improvement and cost savings

Requirements:

• Comfortable working with electrical, pneumatic and laser based instruments

• Familiar with reading electrical and mechanical schematics

• Ability to maintain a strong level of organization in a fast-paced environment

• Familiarity with spare parts used for manufacturing equipment

• Ability to use Microsoft Office (Excel and Word)

• Any technical background

• This position has an open schedule that may include weekends and/or 12-hour shifts. Most likely Sun-Wed or Wed-Sat 6am-6pm

• First year travel may be up to 10% for training

The estimated base hourly range for the Engineering Coordinator role based in the United States of America is: $22.59 - $33.84. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable base pay range may be updated accordingly. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all employees are eligible for one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
