Engineering Technician

Position Summary:

The Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering Technician will be responsible for working collaboratively with Manufacturing Engineers to review and implement engineering changes including equipment, process, and design modifications. The Engineering Technician will also be responsible for basic level investigations and troubleshooting of process and machinery errors.

 

Outline of duties:

• Collaborate with section engineers to interpret, update, and make basic modifications to electrical and mechanical schematics and engineering drawings. Assist in the interpretation and design modification of CAD drawings.
• Interprets, installs, and conducts basic troubleshooting of new and existing electrical controls, mechanical equipment, safety circuits, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), and Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs).
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive list of engineering tasks and activities for ongoing project work.
• Assist with engineering project management through scope of work development and implementation and asset management activities.
• Participate in Departmental Kaizen initiatives.  
• Participate in cross functional teams towards Departmental/Organizational initiatives and projects.
• All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Technical Certification in Engineering Technology, or related field, and 1 or more years relevant experience, or 3 years relevant experience.

Desired Qualifications: 

• Associate’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field or 5+ years relevant experience.
• Experience working in a high production manufacturing environment with exposure to robotics, automated material handling systems, and communication networks.
• Experience in automotive manufacturing.
