Responsibilities

The Retail Pharmacist will assist the Retail Pharmacy Manager in outpatient pharmacy operations. Coordinates the activities of the pharmacy department to provide the highest quality of pharmaceutical care to all patients served by the hospital or the outpatient pharmacy, while ensuring patient safety. The scope of patient care provided may include: General Medicine/Surgical, Intensive Care Services, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Pediatrics, Emergency Care, Oncology, Perioperative, Geriatrics, and Outpatient Services including Immunizations, Meds to Beds, and coordination with Pharmacotherapy, Population Health, and Specialty Pharmacy teams.

Qualifications

  • Current state Registered Pharmacist License required.
  • B.S. degree in Pharmacy or PharmD required.
  • At least 3 years of previous pharmacy retail experience preferred.
  • Previous retail supervisory or PIC experience preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and customer service skills required.
  • Experience with pharmacy computer systems, spreadsheets, word processing programs, and other databases required.
  • APhA Immunization Certification and BLS required.
  • Experience working with Ambulatory Pharmacy Teams preferred.
  • 340B program experience preferred (if at a 340B facility)
